Welcome to the Conference!

Welcome to #DysConf2024! We're so glad you decided to join us for this incredible weekend! This page includes information about COVID prevention measures and information needed to make your conference experience as smooth as possible.

 

MASKING

Dysautonomia International conference guests are required to wear a mask covering their mouth and nose in the hotel common areas and the conference areas at all times, other than while you are eating/drinking. Speakers may remove their masks when lecturing if they would like to do so. Failure to comply with this policy may result in removal from the conference without a refund. Complimentary masks are available at the registration desk and hotel front desk.

 

Please do not congregate in the hotel lobby, restaurant or bar until you have tested negative for COVID during our screening process.

 

COVID SCREENING PROCESS & REGISTRATION MATERIALS PICKUP

COVID screening and registration materials pick up for guests who have previously registered for the conference will begin at 6:00 pm on Friday, July 14th in the hotel lobby at the "Step 1: Check In" desk. Speakers, Exhibitors and Assigned Volunteers may proceed to the "Step 1: Check In" desk beginning at 7:45 AM on Friday.

 

Please bring photo ID to the Step 1: Check-In" desk when it is your time to begin the check in process. Children under 18 do not require photo ID, but must check in with a parent or guardian. You will be provided with a self-administered nasal swab test and further instructions at the Step 1: Check In desk.

 

For guests checking in for the first time on Saturday or Sunday, please wear a mask and proceed to the Step 1: Check In desk in the hotel lobby upon your arrival.

FOOD

Your conference registration includes light refreshments on Friday night, lunch on Saturday and Sunday, and the Saturday night awards dinner. Gluten free and vegetarian options are available during each meal. A list of ingredients is available from the hotel during each meal. Other dining options at your own expense include hotel room service, the hotel's Flights Bistro & Bar, outsides delivery services, and diverse local eateries.

 

Flights Bistro is open daily:

Breakfast: 6:30 – 11:00am | Daily

Lunch: 11:30am – 2pm | Daily

Dinner: 5:30 – 9pm | Daily

 

PET POLICY

As a reminder, pets are not permitted to attend the conference. Service dogs trained to perform specific tasks under the ADA are permitted, but must be maintained under control of their handler at all times.

HOUSEKEEPING

Light Housekeeping Service is provided by the hotel staff on a daily basis. Please use the room privacy sign (Do Not Disturb) should you not want daily housekeeping service.

 

POOL & FITNESS CENTER

The Fitness Center and Indoor Pool are available to overnight hotel guests. The fitness center is open 24/7 and the pool is open from 6:30am – 10:00pm. You may use your guest room key to access the facilities, located on the first floor.

 

RECORDING ACCESS

Some of the lecture rooms will be recorded during the conference, as indicated on the conference schedule. Dysautonomia International will make the recordings available to registered conference guests through a password protected website a few weeks after the conference. We will email you when the recordings are available. Please do not record any of the lectures/workshops.

 

SOCIAL MEDIA

We encourage guests to post photos from the conference and advocacy day with the hashtag #DysConf2023 and tag Dysautonomia International. We are on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

INTERNET ACCESS

Hotel rooms comes with complimentary WiFi. WiFi is also available in the conference common areas:

CELL PHONES ON SILENT

We ask everyone to put their cell phones on silent during the conference sessions.

​

AIRPORT SHUTTLE

The hotel provides a free shuttle to and from Dulles airport every 30 minutes on demand. Sign up for the shuttle and the hotel front desk. If the shuttle is full, you can use Uber, Lyft, or call a taxi to get to the airport.

SMOKING/VAPING POLICY

Hyatt Regency Dulles is a non-smoking facility. For the comfort of all guests, any evidence of smoking or vaping in the hotel will result in a $250 smoking fee charged by the hotel, and removal from the hotel and the conference without a refund.

 

DYSAUTONOMIA ADVOCACY DAY

If you have pre-registered for Dysautonomia Advocacy Day (Monday on Capitol Hill), you are required to attend the Dysautonomia Advocacy Day Training on Sunday afternoon from 4-5pm. If you have pre-registered for Dysautonomia Advocacy Day and can't join us on Monday, please let a Dysautonomia International staff member know so we can cancel the meetings we have scheduled with your House and Senate offices.

For questions about the conference, please call or text ‭(845) 532-3477 and we will respond as soon as possible, but please be patient with us as this is a large event‬. After you have completed the registration process, you can stop by the registration desk, which will be open most of the weekend, to ask conference related questions.
